Morgan’s teaching experience stretches far back into middle school, but her Montessori journey began in 2011 as a classroom assistant in a small Montessori preschool. Led by a passionate and dedicated woman, this little school transformed how Morgan viewed children, teaching, and life.

Morgan is an AMI-trained Montessori Guide at the Casa level (ages 2.5-6+). Her studies in Italy at the Montessori Training Center Perugia included several inspirational field trips, the most memorable being the first Casa dei Bambini in San Lorenzo, Rome. Morgan looks forward to annual refresher courses and conferences and is currently completing her AMI Montessori Sports Fundamentals Certificate.

Prior to her Montessori training, Morgan followed her passion for the outdoors, nature, and science at the University of Guelph, earning her Honours Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology and Conservation. While studying, Morgan played on the Gryphons Ringette team and enjoyed playing intramural hockey and baseball. She has played baseball since she was 4 years old and doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon, but considers herself retired from ringette!

Morgan is currently in the next (and best) stage of her Montessori training... parenthood! Observing her daughter has gifted her with a deeper, more meaningful understanding of Montessori philosophy. Morgan and her daughter never miss their weekly day at Outdoor School, and their family enjoys daily walks to explore near the river. It is particularly special to Morgan to bring her daughter to visit the family farm where she spent countless hours as a child being free in the fields and forest.

Morgan is excited to combine old and new skills to craft a Physical Education program for Planted Seed Montessori School. She thinks that a Montessori school that values the outdoors is the perfect place to learn and grow- for children and adults!
